Site Maintenance Manager
Glennon Brothers is a leading timber processor in Ireland & UK with a strong growth story. Glennon Brothers supplies both the Irish and UK markets with products for the construction, pallet wood and fencing industries.

It also manufactures timber frame homes and engineered roof trusses for the house building sector. It has over 900 employees with plants in Troon, Edinburgh (Windymains) and Inverness in Scotland and Enniskillen, Longford and Fermoy in Ireland. Its people, a commitment to service, and ongoing investment in new technology are core to the business.

As the company prepares for continued growth and investment, Glennon Brothers is now seeking to appoint a Site Maintenance Manager for our Windymains facility.

Job Reporting

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge and experience in heavy industry with a proven track record in good manufacturing practice and lean principles. They will be responsible for all maintenance, mechanical and electrical work, automation, site projects, and maintenance systems on the Windymains sawmill site. They will work closely with operations to manage the Windymains sawmill production capacity to deliver on the Group's strategic objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Maintenance team of fitters and electricians to deliver high-performance process efficiency.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and team management skills to ensure performance of people and equipment is optimized.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of asset management, reliability, maintenance strategy, organization and systems including planning, CMMS, preventive and condition-based maintenance.
  • Ensure the Maintenance function operates to the site required Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
  • Plan and develop PEMAC / CMMS systems to deliver maximum line/process efficiency including energy, plant services and utilities.
  • Deliver KPIs: downtime, uptime, PM schedules and workflow.
  • Utilize PEMAC / CMMS from a scheduling, stores and purchasing perspective.
  • Implement best plant practices involving new technology and design standards.
  • Develop the Maintenance team's capability through training, performance reviews, and coaching.
  • Manage costs in maintenance and engineering functions, including energy and projects.
  • Develop Maintenance Lean Systems for continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and installation companies to complete maintenance and projects to standards.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Qualification in Engineering, mechanical & electrical background, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years maintenance/engineering management experience; sawmilling or heavy industry experience is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of maintenance strategies e.g., RCM, TPM, Asset Management (desirable).
  • Experience promoting a safe working environment and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Strong leadership, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent decision-making, delegation, and people development skills.
  • Open to change, with strong communication skills and relationship-building ability.
