Maintenance Manager

• Annual Salary: GBP52,000 – GBP58,000 + OTE + Package
• Location: Eastbourne, East Sussex (BN20)

Join a leading regional snack and confectionery producer in Eastbourne as a Maintenance Manager. This role is perfect for a hands–on maintenance engineer with supervisory experience, ideally within the FMCG or packaging industry. The company has recently invested in packaging automation and is looking for a Maintenance Manager to lead their in–house team and ensure optimal equipment uptime.

Day–to–day of the role:

• Lead and inspire a team of 3–5 maintenance technicians.
• Oversee planned preventive maintenance (PPM), reactive breakdowns, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage packaging lines, conveyors, labellers, bag sealers, and transfer systems.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), and implement improvement plans.
• Control spares inventory and manage external engineering contractors.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a hands–on maintenance engineer with supervisory responsibilities, ideally within the FMCG or packaging sectors.
• Familiarity with mechanical and basic electrical fault–finding.
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
• Analytical, goal–oriented, and confident in reporting up to site leadership.
