Job summary

THE NICI Bournemouth is seeking a proactive Maintenance Manager to oversee daily maintenance, safety and compliance across our luxury hotels. You will own preventative maintenance, coordinate repairs and supervise contractors to keep properties in exceptional condition for guests and colleagues.

You will work closely with General Managers and operations teams, travel between our properties as required, and plan maintenance programmes to minimise disruption and ensure high standards throughout

Qualifications

• Experience in a maintenance management or supervisory role in hotels or hospitality.
• Strong practical knowledge of general building maintenance and building services.
• Good knowledge of health and safety and statutory compliance.
• Ability to coordinate contractors and manage multiple requests.
• Proactive problem-solving with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration with hotel teams.
• Willingness to travel between properties.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a proactive and hands-on Maintenance Manager to support our hotels and ensure our properties are maintained to the highest standards.

The Role

As Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of our Bournemouth property, ensuring everything runs safely, efficiently and smoothly behind the scenes.

You will take ownership of preventative maintenance, coordinate repairs, manage contractors and support the wider hotel teams to ensure our facilities remain in excellent condition for both guests and colleagues.

This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, has a keen eye for detail and understands the importance of maintaining a luxury hotel environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day maintenance across the hotel properties.
• Develop and deliver preventative maintenance programmes to minimise disruption and avoid unnecessary repairs.
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues, prioritising guest safety and the overall guest experience.
• Carry out practical maintenance and repairs where required.
• Coordinate external contractors and ensure work is completed safely and to the required standard.
• Monitor plant, equipment and building systems, ensuring servicing and statutory inspections are completed on time.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, compliance documentation and service schedules.
• Support health and safety, fire safety and other statutory compliance requirements.
• Manage maintenance supplies, equipment and costs effectively.
• Work closely with General Managers, department heads and operational teams to identify and resolve issues.
• Support refurbishment projects, room upgrades and wider property improvement works.

About You

We are looking for someone who is practical, organised and confident taking ownership of maintenance across a busy hotel environment.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a maintenance management or supervisory role, preferably within hotels, hospitality or a similar environment.
• A strong practical understanding of general building maintenance, repairs and building services.
• Good knowledge of health and safety and statutory compliance requirements.
• The ability to organise contractors, prioritise workloads and manage multiple requests.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving, with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with hotel teams.
• Flexibility to travel between our properties as required.

Relevant technical qualifications and experience managing preventative maintenance systems would be an advantage.
