Job summary

Hazelbrook Care Home in Leicester seeks a Head of Maintenance to lead upkeep, safety and presentation in a specialist care setting. You will oversee building and grounds work, plan maintenance, and drive improvements while coordinating contractors and ensuring minimal disruption in an occupied home.

The role requires strong leadership, health and safety knowledge, and the ability to manage priorities in a complex care environment to ensure regulatory compliance and resident comfort.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in maintenance, facilities or a similar role.
• Experience managing maintenance operations or projects.
• Good knowledge of general building, electrical and repair work.
• Strong organisational and problem solving skills.
• Understanding of health and safety and compliance requirements.
• Ability to manage workload, priorities and external contractors.
• A proactive and reliable approach.

Responsibilities

• Oversee upkeep, safety and presentation of the home within a specialist care setting.
• Manage maintenance across building and grounds, including planned and reactive work.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with health, safety and regulatory requirements.
