Job summary

AstraZeneca plc in Macclesfield is seeking a Maintenance Lead to join the Utilities team. You’ll lead asset upkeep and servicing to deliver safe, reliable and high-performing engineering systems while developing your team.

The role combines engineering expertise with people leadership, mentoring engineers and technicians, developing maintenance strategies, and embedding Lean practices across the department.

Qualifications

• Relevant engineering degree or apprenticeship required.
• Experience in asset management within a regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of asset performance and equipment upkeep.
• Experience coaching and supporting others in engineering or maintenance.
• Understand SHE, GxP and engineering compliance requirements.
• Ability to use data and performance measures to support maintenance decisions.
• Collaborative approach and ability to build relationships across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead asset and energy performance delivery in the Utilities department.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies for asset maintenance and repair.
• Mentor engineers, technicians and engineering coordinators.
• Improve asset availability, performance and output quality.
• Ensure maintenance activities are planned, resourced and delivered.
• Embed Lean principles and standardised ways of working.
• Support audits and regulatory inspections within area of responsibility.
• Lead engineering change controls for improvement activities.
• Work with internal teams and external service providers to drive performance.
