Job summary

Mears Group in Rainham, London is seeking a hardworking Handyperson to join our Repairs and Maintenance team. This permanent, full-time role requires practical ability, customer service and teamwork to help maintain our properties against damp and mould to a high standard.

You will work 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, hold a Full UK driving licence and own basic hand tools. Duties include damp prevention, installing fixtures, painting, basic plumbing, checking safety

Qualifications

• Experience dealing with damp and mould issues.
• General handyperson/maintenance experience.
• Experience carrying out UPVC window and door repairs.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Assisting damp & mould team with mould prevention
• Install fixtures such as curtains, blinds and door handles
• Carry out painting and decorating tasks with attention to presentation
• Fix leaking waste pipes and minor plumbing repairs
• Replace light bulbs and check smoke alarms
• Support cleaning and waste collection duties, with training
• Work collaboratively within the Repairs and Maintenance team
• Deliver excellent customer service across tasks
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and residents
• Make decisions and solve problems independently when needed
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality and cost control
