Job summary

New Appointments Group Ltd is recruiting for a General Maintenance / Handy Person role in Crowborough on a temporary basis. You will work as part of the Estates team, handling day-to-day maintenance requests and keeping the site running smoothly.

Typical duties include responding to tickets, basic plumbing, door fixtures, lighting, and general repairs. Own transport is preferred, DBS checks apply, and a potential extension may follow after 31st December.

• Ability to work independently and use initiative.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance requests via helpdesk/ticketing system.
• Clear toilet blockages and resolve basic plumbing issues.
• Replace door handles and other fixtures and fittings.
• Change light bulbs and carry out basic maintenance.
• Deal with sinks and drains that are not functioning correctly.
• General repairs and maintenance around the site.
• Carry out routine checks and assist the wider Estates team.
• Support with other general maintenance tasks as required.

Contract: Temporary, initially until 31st December, with potential for extension

We are currently recruiting for a

General Maintenance / Handy Person

Crowborough on a temporary basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, hands-on individual who is confident tackling a variety of general maintenance tasks and enjoys a varied working day.

The Role

Working as part of the Estates team, you will be responsible for responding to day-to-day maintenance requests and helping to keep the site running smoothly.

Typical duties will include:

• Responding to maintenance requests via the helpdesk/ticketing system


• Clearing toilet blockages and resolving basic plumbing issues


• Replacing door handles and other fixtures and fittings


• Changing light bulbs and carrying out basic maintenance


• Dealing with sinks and drains that are not functioning correctly


• General repairs and maintenance around the site


• Carrying out routine checks and assisting the wider Estates team


• Supporting with other general maintenance tasks as required

You will work alongside an experienced lead engineer who will provide an initial handover and familiarisation with the site, routines and ticketing system.

About You

We are looking for someone who is

practical, reliable and confident with their hands. You do not need to hold a specific trade qualification, but you should be comfortable carrying out general maintenance and basic repairs.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a general maintenance, handy person, facilities or similar role


• The ability to work independently and use initiative

Additional Information

• The main working location is

Crowborough, with occasional cover at the sister site in

East Grinstead, so own transport is essential.

The role is subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
