Civil Aerospace Operations (CAOps) are responsible for the assembly and testing of Production, Repair and Experimental engines. Within CAOps, Manufacturing Services provide the maintenance and repair function for plant, equipment and facilities within the Derby estate.

What you will be doing:

The role is responsible for the mechanical maintenance and repair of Test, Experimental and Production facilities equipment, plant, control systems and machine tools. Within the team, a certain amount of temporary and permanent mechanical installation is also undertaken.

  • You will interface effectively with customers, suppliers and Manufacturing Services team members to optimise the overall performance of the Assembly and Test organisation.
  • Working on production equipment which is used to manufacture aircraft engines.
  • Responsible for the planned maintenance and reactive maintenance on all build line equipment and engine test facilities.
  • Working with pumps, motors, gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Position Qualifications:

Applications are welcomed from individuals who have served a recognised maintenance or mechanical apprenticeship.

  • You will be keen to work safely in a modern team-based environment and possess a “can do” mentality and good problem-solving skills.
  • You will hold a recognised time-served apprenticeship including City and Guilds, NVQ3 or equivalent in a mechanical discipline.
  • You must be able to demonstrate experience in using a variety of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • You will have a professional and flexible attitude with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels.
