Job summary

W Talent are recruiting an experienced Maintenance Fitter for a busy Doncaster manufacturing site. This days-based role involves keeping production machinery running, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, and supporting improvements.

You should have strong mechanical fitting skills, fault-finding, and TIG welding experience; you’ll work with Production and Engineering teams on upgrades. A permanent, hands-on role in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Maintenance Fitter, Mechanical Fitter or similar.
• Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
• Experience working with fast-moving production machinery.
• TIG welding experience is essential or highly desirable.
• Good mechanical fitting and fabrication skills.
• Experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Proactive approach to maintenance and problem solving.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of an engineering team.
• Genuine interest in improving machinery and processes.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across production machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise production downtime.
• Work on fast-moving manufacturing machinery within a busy production environment.
• Carry out general maintenance and mechanical fitting duties.
• Complete TIG welding and fabrication work where required.

• Get involved in continuous improvement projects to improve reliability, efficiency and safety.
• Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to resolve issues quickly.
• Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and work completed.

Maintenance Fitter | Doncaster | Days Based | £17.50 - £22.00

W Talent are currently working with a fast-paced manufacturing business in Doncaster who are looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join their engineering team. This is a hands-on role working within a busy manufacturing environment, where you'll be responsible for keeping machinery running efficiently, carrying out general maintenance and getting involved in improvement projects.

Working Monday to Friday, days based this role would suit a mechanically strong Maintenance Fitter who is confident working around machinery and can also bring TIG welding skills to the position.

Key Requirements

We're looking for someone who lives in Doncaster, Sheffield or surrounding areas with a strong practical engineering background who is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Maintenance Fitter, Mechanical Fitter or similar.

• Experience working with fast-moving production machinery.
