Position: Maintenance Fitter (Open)

Responsibilities:

• Ensure a safety culture across the site
• Adhere to Greif UK HR processes and procedures
• Lead by example to the Greif Way
• Focus on planning, scheduling, and preventive/predictive maintenance using the CMMS
• Assist in all maintenance tasks and identify opportunities for improvement, completing projects to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
• Create shared owner value by eliminating waste from processes
• Implement and maintain world-class housekeeping standards
• Maximize equipment efficiency (OEE), minimizing scrap and waste
• Investigate customer complaints to identify root causes and track corrective actions
• Plan to ensure on-time delivery to all customers
• Ensure quality, reduce scrap, and conduct root cause analysis to prevent re-occurrences
• Maintain calibration records
• Conduct at least two Kaizen events annually
• Follow all safety, health, and environmental policies, especially sections 2.1.2 and 2.1.6
• Complete additional tasks as required to meet KPIs
• Use Progea and other systems to monitor and improve plant operations
• Ensure maintenance coverage for production overtime

Qualifications & Training:

Essential: Recognized mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent, good education standards

Desirable: ONC/HNC or equivalent in relevant discipline

Experience & Skills:

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles (Kanban, SMED, 5S)
• Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled equipment in manufacturing
• Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Office
