Job summary

Valley House in Coventry is seeking a full-time Maintenance Worker to join our Maintenance/Facilities Team. You will perform repairs and decorating across supported housing, clean units for new residents, and assist with move-ins while maintaining safety checks and security routines.

The role requires experience with general maintenance, ability to liaise with external contractors, and holding a valid driving licence. DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with external contractors.
• General maintenance tasks including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, building, plastering, gardening, glazing and decorating.
• Able to work flexibly.
• A current and valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking maintenance activities and repairs (including those to domestic appliances), improvements, decorating and gardening.
• Monitoring the standards of regularly used household equipment, furniture, fixtures and fittings and reporting repairs to the Business Support Manager.
• Cleaning and preparing accommodation units for new residents and transporting belongings when moving within the supported accommodation.
• Cleaning communal areas within supported accommodation and Valley House equipment.
• Contributing to routine Health and Safety checks including PAT Testing and action as directed by the Business Support Manager.
• Ensuring all Health and Safety requirements are completed in line with current legislation.
• Security duties including opening and closing premises on a rota.
