Job summary

Automation Experts in the West Midlands are seeking a practical Maintenance & Facilities Technician to maintain production machinery and site facilities. The role includes planned maintenance, breakdown response, and contributing to site projects.

You will work Monday–Friday with overtime opportunities and extensive training, including health and safety qualifications. Located in Coventry and commutable from nearby towns, the role offers training, overtime (Sat/Sun rates), and long-term

Qualifications

• Mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Electrical/pneumatic knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance across production machinery and site equipment.
• Respond to mechanical breakdowns and perform reactive maintenance.
• Support maintenance of factory facilities and infrastructure.
• Assist with improving maintenance procedures and documentation.
• Perform basic fault finding and repairs on mechanical equipment.
• Support PUWER assessments and safe operation of machinery.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs.
• Work safely, including at height when required.
• Contribute to site improvement and expansion projects.

Maintenance & Facilities Technician

£27-33k + Training, Overtime, Stable Working

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business with an annual turnover of £250 million. As part of continued investment in its operations, including the construction of a new £25 million warehouse, the company is looking to appoint a practical, hands-on Maintenance Engineer to support the upkeep of both production equipment and site facilities.

Maintenance Technician - The Role:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery and site equipment
• Respond to mechanical breakdowns and perform reactive maintenance
• Support the maintenance and upkeep of factory facilities and infrastructure
• Assist with improving preventative maintenance procedures and maintenance documentation
• Carry out basic fault finding and repairs across mechanical equipment
• Support PUWER assessments and safe operation of machinery
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and work logs
• Work safely while carrying out maintenance tasks, including working at height when required
• Contribute to ongoing site improvement and expansion projects

Maintenance Technician - What We're Looking For:

• Mechanical maintenance experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Engineering Apprenticeship, HNC, City & Guilds or equivalent practical experience
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Electrical and pneumatic maintenance knowledge would be advantageous
• Comfortable working at height
• Self-motivated with a practical, hands-on approach
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Basic IT skills for recording maintenance activities
• Willingness to undertake additional training and occasional overtime
