Job summary

TQR Consultancy Ltd is seeking an experienced Maintenance and Facilities Engineer for a family-run operation in Torpoint. The role involves hands-on maintenance, both preventative and reactive, plus facilities upkeep to ensure on-time order delivery.

Ideal candidates have Electrical or Mechanical engineering qualifications and experience in manufacturing or FMCG environments, with welding/fabrication skills and a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (BTEC/City & Guilds/Time Served Apprentice or equivalent).
• Experience in Manufacturing, Agriculture, FMCG or semi-automated production environments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct planned preventative maintenance on machinery and schedule it.
• Carry out general building and site maintenance as required.
• Attend to equipment breakdown repairs promptly.
• Install new production equipment or assist external contractors.
• Provide support and supervision to external contractors on site.
• Support continuous improvement activities across the business.
• Adhere to and maintain site health and safety standards.

Job description

Experienced Maintenance and Facilities Engineer required to join a family run business based in Torpoint who have a long-standing customer base including major brand names. In this varied Engineering role, the successful candidate will be required to be carrying out both hands on preventative and reactive machine maintenance as well as Facilities Maintenance. You will play a crucial part in the smooth and efficient running of site to ensure that orders are delivered to customers on time. Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct planned preventative maintenance on machinery/equipment and be responsible for the scheduling of this.
• Carry out general building and site maintenance as required.
• Attend to all equipment breakdown repairs with a matter of urgency.
• Carry out installation of any new production equipment or to assist external contractors with this when required.
• Provide support and supervision, as necessary, for external contractors working on the premises.
• Support, and anticipate in, continuous improvement activities as required within all areas of the business.
• Adhere to and maintain all site health and safety standards.

Essential Experience & Candidate Attributes Required:

• BTEC, City & Guilds, Time Served Apprentice or Equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, in the absence of a qualification relevant Maintenance Engineering experience may also be considered.
• Maintenance Engineering experience gained from backgrounds such as Manufacturing, Agriculture, FMCG or Semi-Automated production environments.
• Electrical, compressed air and mechanical fault finding.
• Welding and Fabrication experience. In the absence of this experience training can be given.

Beneficial knowledge:

• HACCP and BRCGS.

This role is working static days of Monday to Friday 7am to 3pm or 8am to 4pm.
