Job summary

Wagstaff Recruitment is seeking a Maintenance Engineer in Weston-Super-Mare to perform planned and reactive maintenance across a range of mechanical and electrical equipment. You will diagnose faults, update reporting systems and drive root-cause and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires experience in manufacturing maintenance, with shifts available and a salary around £50k–£53k plus overtime and benefits. Location is Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship Trained or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with conveyors, motors and gearboxes is preferred.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Diagnose and repair faults in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Use and update reporting systems for maintenance activities.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with production to maximise uptime and efficiency.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Are you an ambitious Maintenance Engineer looking to join a company where you will be working on a wide range of equipment on a daily basis, developing your skillset? Do you have proven experience working within a manufacturing enviromnent as a maintenance engineer, providence both reactive and planned maintenance?

The Role:

• Perform planned and reactive maintenance on a range of mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults in a timely manner.
• Use and regularly update the departmental reporting systems.
• Carry out root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions.
• Work closely with production teams to ensure maximum equipment uptime and efficiency.
• Support Continuous Improvement Activities.

What we are looking for:

• Apprenticeship Trained (desirable) OR NVQ Level 3 in Mech Engineering – or similar.
• Experience working with Conveyors, Motors and Gearboxes.
• Happy working shifts.
