Job summary

Ball Corporation in the United Kingdom is seeking a maintenance professional to execute the PPM plan and support Shift Engineers during breakdowns, contributing to the department's continuous improvement strategy. Working hours are 8 am to 5 pm.

You will carry out mechanical and electrical repairs, support autonomous maintenance, and help optimise production output and quality by quickly resolving machine issues.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a maintenance role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Completed a mechanical apprenticeship.
• Experience in bench fitting/service engineering and mechanical maintenance.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Solutions-focused approach; Fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs as directed by the engineering leadership group or zonal specialists.
• Address problems with production machines likely to affect production or safety.
• Support autonomous maintenance by upskilling operators' mechanical knowledge.
• Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance to company standards.
• Update operation standards that define maintenance tasks for PPM operations.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement of processes and machines.
• Communicate to the engineering team proactively about issues.
• Operate and maintain production machines.
• Seek to optimise production output and quality by resolving machine problems.
