Job summary

Wolviston Management Services Ltd is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join the Teesside engineering team. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, and improve equipment reliability in a busy manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship in mechanical and/or electrical discipline.
• Experience in manufacturing/maintenance/engineering environment.
• Strong hands-on mechanical and/or electrical maintenance skills.
• Experience with machine tools and CNC machinery.
• Practical knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across site equipment.
• Diagnose faults and perform effective mechanical/electrical repairs.
• Maintain and repair factory equipment including CNC machinery.
• Support Lean manufacturing improvements and 5S/PDCA initiatives.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and documentation.

Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias

Wolviston Management Services are pleased to be supporting our client in the recruitment of an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their established engineering team in Teesside.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on, multi-skilled engineer with a strong mechanical and/or electrical background to take responsibility for the maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement of a wide range of plant, machinery and site facilities.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will work as part of the engineering team to maximise equipment availability, minimise downtime and ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

The role would suit a time-served engineer who enjoys fault finding, problem solving and working within a busy manufacturing environment.

The Role

As Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across the site, diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs to mechanical and electrical equipment.

• Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across plant, equipment and site facilities.
• Responding quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
• Maintaining and repairing factory equipment, including CNC machinery.
• Completing day-to-day mechanical fault finding and rectification activities.
• Supporting equipment modifications, process improvements and efficiency initiatives.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and associated documentation.
• Working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and carrying out electrical diagnostics.
• Using workshop machinery including cutting, milling, turning and surface grinding equipment.
• Supporting welding and fabrication activities where required.
• Contributing to continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing principles including 5S, 8D and PDCA.
• Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with site procedures, instructions and safe systems of work.
• Maintaining excellent housekeeping and safe working conditions.
• Working closely with colleagues across the business to improve equipment reliability and overall plant performance.
• Maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and quality.

About You

We are looking for an experienced, practical and proactive Maintenance Engineer who takes pride in delivering high-quality engineering support.

• Completed a time-served engineering apprenticeship within a mechanical and/or electrical discipline.
• Experience within a manufacturing, maintenance or engineering environment.
• Strong hands-on mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience.
• Experience working with machine tools and CNC machinery.
• Practical knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical diagnostics.
• Machining experience including milling, turning, cutting, surface grinding and general workshop machinery.
• Knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques would be advantageous.
• Experience of planned preventative maintenance and breakdown response.An understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Strong organisational, communication and time-management skills.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
