Job summary

Hunter Selection Limited is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for a leading UK manufacturer near Shepton Mallet. The role focuses on minimising downtime, carrying out preventative maintenance, and improving long-term reliability of production equipment.

You will perform routine maintenance, record tasks on an electronic reporting system, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering team. On-site facilities and benefits support a stable, long-term position.

Qualifications

• Continuous improvement knowledge required.
• Strong knowledge of good engineering standards.
• Experience in engineering, manufacturing or production environments.

Responsibilities

• Respond to machine breakdowns to minimise downtime and improve long-term reliability.
• Lead or support preventative maintenance plans and reactive fixes.
• Use root cause analysis tools and 5S methodologies.
• Contribute to a culture of Continuous Improvement to engineer out persistent problems.
• Carry out routine Planned Preventative Maintenance.
• Accurately record all maintenance tasks on an electronic reporting system.
