Job summary

A market leading food manufacturing company in Skelmersdale is seeking Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers to support their engineering team. This hands-on role offers competitive pay of around £48k, a quarterly bonus, and numerous additional benefits including staff discounts and subsidised canteen. Ideal candidates will have strong electrical or mechanical skills, relevant engineering qualifications, and experience in a manufacturing environment. The position features a unique work schedule of 42 hours across 3.5 days per week.

Qualifications

  • Time-served/apprenticeship-trained engineer.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver hands-on engineering support to keep production running smoothly.
  • Perform both reactive and planned maintenance on plant and equipment.
  • Keep maintenance records up to date using our CMMS system.
  • Work closely with production to meet daily performance goals.
  • Follow safety and repair best practices at all times.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.

We're seeking Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineers to support a growing engineering team. If you have strong electrical or mechanical skills, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, but may not be on full shifts this role could be a great fit for you and offers real career progression opportunity.

Hours

Total 42 hours across 3.5 days per week: 3 x 12‑hour day shift (06:00 - 18:00) aligned with site engineering shutdowns + additional 6 hours alternating Wednesday and Friday each week (07:00 - 13:00).
