Job summary

Adecco Group UK & Ireland is recruiting a Maintenance Technician for our Prestwick site. You will carry out planned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, diagnosing faults and minimising downtime.

You will read drawings, work with 415V electrical systems, and support continuous improvement, mentoring apprentices and liaising with contractors. This role offers development opportunities and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience.
• Knowledge of 415V electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and electrical drawings.
• Experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on manufacturing equipment.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and work to minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Support continuous improvement projects and equipment upgrades.
• Monitor machinery performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Liaise with external contractors and suppliers when required.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety requirements.
• Support the development of apprentices and junior team members.
