Job summary

Magna International seeks a Maintenance and Facilities Engineer to oversee plant equipment maintenance and ensure smooth production flow. The role involves contributing to design meetings, driving continuous improvement and aligning with departmental targets.

The ideal candidate has time-served apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering, multi-skill capability, and experience with ABB robots, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic fault-finding, plus strong communication skills and

Qualifications

Time served apprenticeship in Mechanical or electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum C & G craft qualification / NVQ level 3 qualification in related discipline or equivalent.
Willingness to multi- skill.
Experience working with ABB robots.
Experience in fault finding from electrical schematics.
Experience in fault finding from hydraulic & pneumatic schematics.
Good Microsoft package ( especially: word, excel).
To be able to communicate technical issues to non-technical staff.
5’s experience.

Responsibilities

To ensure equipment availability is in line with departmental targets.
To engage in Root cause analysis of repeat / major breakdowns and provide reports with suggested improvements.
To engineer out previous issues following a continuous improvement mind-set & methodology.
To facilitate the PM schedules and make recommendations for improvement.
To support the internal customers with technical issues Inc. non-breakdown.
To ensure Health, Safety and Environmental procedures are followed during maintenance activities.
To maintain and improve the equipment so quality is built in.
Attend training when required and adhere to CCUK and Magna standards.
To apply 5S methodology in work area and wider factory.
To align to departmental and company goals.
To support management with ad-hoc projects as and when required.
Promote the companies HSE policies across the department and plant and adhere to all Health and Safety environmental requirements.
