Job summary

Aliaxis in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire offers an Engineering Apprenticeship starting January 2027, combining college study with on-the-job training under a mentor to become a skilled Maintenance Engineer.

You will perform basic repairs, carry out preventative maintenance, read drawings, use hand and power tools, and keep safety and records up to date. Year 1 is college 2 days/week, on-site 3 days; Years 2–3 are college 1 day/week, on-site 4 days.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or above) or A Levels.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Interest in manufacturing and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out basic repairs and maintenance on mechanical equipment such as pumps, valves and pipes.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks and keep checklists/records.
• Learn and assist with more complex mechanical tasks under supervision.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment with safe tool use.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and use basic software.
