Aliaxis UK is seeking an Engineering Apprentice to start a hands‑on career in mechanical maintenance at our Huntingdon site. The programme combines college study with on‑the‑job training under an experienced mentor, helping you grow into a skilled maintenance engineer.

Yearly, you will split time between Cambridge Regional College and on‑site work in Huntingdon, gaining practical experience with pumps, valves, and pipes while building a foundation in engineering science and safety practices.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4+).
• Basic computer literacy.
• Interest in manufacturing and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out basic repairs and maintenance on mechanical equipment such as pumps, valves, and pipes.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks.
• Complete checklists and maintenance records.
• Learn and assist with more complex mechanical tasks.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Use hand and power tools (e.g., wrenches, drills, grinders) and test equipment.
• Understand engineering science and technology principles.
• Prioritise safety and identify workplace hazards.
• Use basic computer software (Word, Excel).
• Read and interpret engineering and technical drawings.

What You\'ll Be Studying: Mechatronics Maintenance Technician (Level 3)

Are you passionate about engineering and eager to learn hands‑on mechanical skills? We\'re looking for a motivated Engineering Apprentice to join our team and begin an exciting journey toward becoming a skilled Maintenance Engineer.

About The Role

As an Engineering Apprentice, you\’ll undertake a structured training programme combining academic study with practical, on-the-job experience. Under the guidance of an experienced Mentor, you\’ll gain the skills and knowledge needed to support our engineering department and grow into a future leader in maintenance.
