Job summary

The Sterling Choice is recruiting a Maintenance Engineer for a well-established food manufacturer in Malton. This role operates on a 4 on 4 off days-only pattern with no nights, offering a strong work-life balance while delivering hands-on, varied engineering challenges in a production environment.

You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, perform PPMs, and support continuous improvement while maintaining safety and food manufacturing standards.

Qualifications

• Qualification in engineering or equivalent with a manufacturing background.
• Electrical or mechanical bias with practical hands-on experience.
• Strong safety awareness and compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across production equipment
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
• Complete PPMs and preventative maintenance activities
• Respond to breakdowns and minimise production downtime
• Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
• Work closely with production and other engineers to keep the site running efficiently
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and food manufacturing compliance

Education

NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / HNC or equivalent engineering qualification

Manufacturing environment experience

Electrical or mechanical bias
