Job summary

Staffline is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer at our Wrexham site. You will join a high‑volume food manufacturing environment, maintaining and optimising production equipment across continental shift patterns.

The role requires hands‑on problem solving, proactive maintenance planning, and clear shift handovers. The ideal candidate holds a Level 3 engineering qualification with proven experience in regulated manufacturing, strong fault finding, and good communication within a team.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in engineering.
• Proven experience working in a manufacturing environment (food/FMCG or similar regulated sector).
• Strong fault‑finding skills across mechanical and/or electrical systems.
• Proactive, team‑focused approach with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on manufacturing and packaging equipment.
• Quickly diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime.
• Support production teams to ensure machinery operates at optimal efficiency.
• Complete preventative maintenance tasks in line with site schedules.
• Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health & safety, food safety, and quality standards.
• Accurately record maintenance activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with equipment improvements, breakdown root cause analysis, and minor project work.
• Work effectively on a continental shift pattern, handing over clearly between shifts.

Continental Shift Pattern (7am - 7pm, 7pm - 7am)

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Shift Engineer to join a well-established food manufacturing site in Wrexham. Operating within a high-volume, fast-paced environment, you'll play a key role in ensuring production equipment runs safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands‑on problem-solving and working as part of a collaborative shift team.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities - Maintenance Engineer

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on manufacturing and packaging equipment

• A proactive, team‑focused approach with good communication skills
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and make sound engineering decisions
