How You'll Make an Impact
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), routine inspections and reactive maintenance across production machinery, plant and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and pneumatic faults, responding effectively to breakdowns and restoring equipment to safe operation while minimising production downtime.
  • Support the preparation, installation and commissioning of new production equipment, including the installation and maintenance of pneumatic systems.
  • Interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals and maintenance instructions to identify faults, determine corrective actions and complete repairs to the required standard.
  • Complete risk assessments, maintenance records and safety documentation, ensuring work complies with Health and Safety Executive (HSE), IOSH and company health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
  • Communicate equipment status and maintenance activity to operational teams, coordinating subcontractors and external service providers where required. At least five years' hands-on maintenance experience within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic experience across electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems, with the ability to carry out safe and effective repairs.
  • Good practical knowledge of planned preventative maintenance, machinery inspections and techniques used to improve equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
  • Good understanding of health and safety legislation, risk assessments and safe systems of work within an industrial environment.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals and maintenance instructions, alongside basic PC skills and experience using maintenance-related systems.
  • A time-served engineering apprenticeship and/or Level 3 NVQ in Electro/mechanical Engineering or equivalent would be advantageous, as would experience installing and commissioning machinery or managing contractors.
