Job summary

Apex Resource Management Ltd in Warwick is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for a hands-on role in our hose assembly manufacturing operation. You will focus on improving equipment reliability, safety and efficiency while providing day-to-day technical support to production.

The role involves installing, commissioning and validating new equipment, plus developing automated manufacturing processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day maintenance and technical support across manufacturing operations.
• Diagnose plant and machinery faults and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain preventive and predictive maintenance plans to improve equipment reliability.
• Analyse downtime trends to reduce breakdowns and repeat failures.
• Ensure maintenance activities meet HSE, Quality and regulatory requirements.
• Support installation, commissioning and start-up of new equipment and automation systems.
• Assist automation improvements involving PLCs, HMIs, sensors, robotics, vision systems and automated testing equipment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records in EAM and Gensuite.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities (Kaizen, 5S, LPA).
• Coordinate contractors for repairs, upgrades and technical support.
• Support maintenance cost control and spare parts optimisation.
• Train technicians and operators in equipment operation and fault finding.
• Collaborate with production teams to prioritise maintenance and minimise disruption.

Working hours: Mon-Thurs 08:00-16:30, Fridays 08:00-14:00 (day shift only)

Role Summary

We are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to support a hose assembly manufacturing operation in Warwick. This is a hands-on engineering position focused on improving equipment reliability, safety and efficiency while providing effective day-to-day technical support to production.

The Maintenance Engineer will also support new equipment installations, commissioning, validation and start-up, alongside the development and improvement of automated manufacturing processes.

Role & Responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer

• Provide day-to-day maintenance and technical support across manufacturing operations.
• Diagnose plant and machinery faults, implementing effective corrective actions.
• Maintain preventive and predictive maintenance plans to improve equipment reliability.
• Analyse downtime trends to reduce breakdowns and repeat failures.
• Ensure maintenance activities and equipment modifications meet HSE, Quality and regulatory requirements.
• Support the installation, commissioning and start-up of new equipment and automation systems.
• Support automation improvements involving PLCs, HMIs, sensors, robotics, vision systems and automated testing equipment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records through EAM and Gensuite.
• Support continuous improvement activities, including Kaizen, problem-solving, 5S and LPA.

Requirements of the Maintenance Engineer

• NVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent technical qualification.
• Time-served Mechanical and/or Electrical background preferred.
• Experience within plant and equipment automation.
• Maintenance experience within medium to high-volume manufacturing.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across plant and machinery.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement and analytical techniques.

Knowledge of H&S, CA/CE legislation and PUWER.

• Hands-on, safety-focused approach with strong ownership.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within a production environment.
• Computer literate with Microsoft Office and PPM database experience.
• Full driving licence.
