A leading company in Portchester is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to ensure the operational efficiency of plant machinery and equipment. As a part of a global team, you will execute planned maintenance tasks, repair systems, and facilitate a safe working environment. You will mentor junior staff while working in a fast-paced setting, contributing significantly to the company's operational goals.
Based in Portchester, UK. The main responsibility of this role includes the general day to day maintenance of all plant machinery and associated equipment alongside general site maintenance.
• Conduct TPM (planned maintenance) and maintain all relevant records.
• Conduct the safe installation of new production lines in accordance with engineering and safety standards.
• Conduct in-house relocation of machinery and associated equipment as required.
• Maintain and repair lighting and power distribution systems.
• Maintain and repair compressed air systems and related equipment.
• Maintain and repair lighting and small power systems.
• Maintain and repair equipment on assembly cells, including Siemens PLC-controlled systems.
• Maintain and repair moulding machines and associated equipment.
• Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic plant equipment.
• Conduct pipe work installations and relocations as required.
• Conduct maintenance and repairs to all jigs and fixtures.
• Conduct all necessary oil changes.
• Ensure stock levels of spare parts are maintained and order replacements when required.
• Ensure all plant and machinery comply with Health & Safety requirements.
• Provide cross-departmental support as required.
• Offer guidance and mentoring to Apprentices and Junior Engineers.
• Work towards and achieve personal business objectives (PBO).
• Comply with the Health & Safety Policy and promote a safe working environment for all.
• Provide support during weekends as required to meet operational demands.
• Ensure adherence to the 5S methodology to maintain an organised and efficient work environment.
• Ensure effective communication with colleagues, supervisors, and other departments to support coordination and task completion.
• Complete thorough and accurate handovers at shift changes or job completion to maintian continuity.
• Any other duties as may be reasonably requested by the Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor.
