At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together. Join us as a Maintenance Engineer at our Royal Naval Air Station - Culdrose site and play your part.

The role

As a Maintenance Engineer at RNAS Culdrose, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You'll work at an MOD site that provides training for the next generation of military capability and support staff.

Your responsibilities include maintaining a safe, legally compliant, functional, and compliant environment. You will lead in delivering all maintenance services and contract outputs daily.

1. Work with a small team to deliver Planned Maintenance, Reactive repairs, and remedial works.
2. Maintain systems such as alarm systems, fixed electrical systems, lighting, and door controls.
3. Complete reports and associated paperwork.
4. Participate in the on-call rota, usually 1 week in 4, with allowances paid and a company van provided.

This role is full-time and based onsite at RNAS Culdrose.

Essential experience of the Maintenance Engineer

• Experience in delivering facilities management services for buildings and equipment.
• Preferably with electrical bias; other trades considered include HVAC, Mechanical, or Plumbing.
• A flexible, 'can-do' attitude with multi-skilling capabilities.
• Understanding of working at height, ladder use, and inspection.

Qualifications for the Maintenance Engineer

• Full UK driving license.
• Recognized qualification in a building service discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, or Plumbing).
• Electrical Engineering – City and Guilds parts one and two or equivalent (17th or 18th edition) is highly desirable.

Security Clearance

• The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain BPSS security clearance.
