Wagstaff Inc. in Skelmersdale is seeking an electrically biased multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a market-leading, highly automated food production facility.

You'll work within a large site with substantial investment, strong maintenance processes, and a supportive team culture. You'll deliver hands-on engineering support, carry out reactive and planned maintenance, and use CMMS to record activities.

Qualifications

• Time-served or apprenticeship-trained engineer.
• NVQ Level 3 / BTEC Level 3.
• ONC / HNC or similar.
• Strong electrical skillset.
• Manufacturing/production experience.
• Positive, proactive team player.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on engineering support to keep production running smoothly.
• Perform both reactive and planned maintenance.
• Use CMMS system to record and track maintenance activities.
• Work closely with production to meet performance goals.
• Follow safety and repair best practices at all times.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
• Be part of a collaborative, supportive engineering team.

Shift Pattern:

Panama Shifts - Days and Nights (12 hours) (3s & 2s) (2 weeks Days then 2 weeks Nights)

What We're Looking For:

• Time‑served or apprenticeship‑trained engineer
• Relevant engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 3 / BTEC Level 3)
• ONC / HNC or similar further qualifications required
• Strong electrical skillset
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment
• A positive, proactive mindset and a team player
• Eagerness to grow, learn, and contribute to a forward‑thinking engineering department
