The role

SSE Facilities Management department is looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer (Electrical or Mechanical Bias) for Reading to provide maintenance, service, repairs, and installation of building services across the company's corporate sites. The successful candidate must be multi-skilled with a relevant trade qualification in Electrical or Mechanical fields. Experience with plant such as Air Handling Units, Air Conditioning, Generators, Boilers, Plumbing, Electrical systems, UPS, and Fire alarm systems is essential.

You will

1. Undertake maintenance, repairs, installation, or servicing work as directed by the FM Maintenance Supervisor or Technical Manager.
2. Perform multi-skilled activities within Facilities Management.
3. Comply with SSE work practices and health & safety regulations at all times.
4. Conduct site inductions, issue permits, and escort third-party contractors.
5. Participate in the out-of-hours emergency standby rota as required.

You have

1. Previous experience in a commercial Facilities Management or Maintenance environment with multi-trade skills.
2. City & Guilds/SVQ/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
3. Knowledge of M&E and building fabric maintenance.
4. Understanding of health and safety legislation.
5. Experience with plant such as air handling units, air conditioning, generators, boilers, plumbing, electrical systems, UPS, and fire alarms.
6. A full driving license and willingness to travel between sites.
