Job summary

Motiontech in Peterborough is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join an on-site, permanent role working on advanced automation and material handling systems. The role involves 12-hour rotating shifts, days and nights, with weekends and overtime opportunities.

You will provide planned preventative maintenance, fault-find electrical, mechanical and PLC controlled equipment, and maintain conveyors, drives and pneumatics while using CMMS for logging and performance tracking.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Multi-Skilled Engineering.
• Proven maintenance experience in logistics, automation, FMCG, or manufacturing.
• Strong fault-finding skills across electrical, mechanical, and PLC-controlled systems.
• Hands-on experience with conveyors, drives, gearboxes, pneumatics.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned preventative maintenance across automated material handling systems.
• Respond to breakdowns quickly, diagnosing and resolving faults to minimise downtime.
• Fault-find on electrical, mechanical, and PLC-controlled equipment.

Maintenance Engineer

12-hour rotating shifts (days and nights, including weekends)

You’ll join an established maintenance team on-site in Peterborough, keeping cutting-edge automated material handling systems running at peak performance. Day to day, you’ll split your time between planned preventative work and reactive fault-finding — with the tools, systems, and team around you to do both properly.

You’ll:
