Job summary

Motiontech is hiring a Maintenance Engineer to support one of the UK's most advanced automated logistics facilities. This hands-on role covers 12-hour day and night shifts on a multi-skilled team maintaining conveyors, motors, gearboxes and PLC-controlled equipment.

Ideal candidates hold NVQ Level 3 (Electrical/Mechanical or Multi-Skilled) with proven maintenance experience in logistics, automation or FMCG environments and strong fault-finding abilities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical or Multi-Skilled Engineering.
• Proven Maintenance Engineer experience in logistics, automation, FMCG, manufacturing or similar.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience working with conveyors and automated material handling systems, motors, drives, gearboxes and pneumatics.
• Experience using CMMS systems.
• Flexible to work 12-hour rotating shifts (days/nights).

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned preventative maintenance across automated material handling systems.
• Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns, minimising downtime.
• Conduct fault finding on electrical, mechanical and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Maintain conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pneumatics and automated handling systems.
• Use CMMS to record maintenance activity and track performance data.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking a proactive, adaptable Maintenance Engineer with strong diagnostic capability and experience in automated or fast-paced production/logistics environments.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical or Multi-Skilled Engineering
• Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in logistics, automation, FMCG, manufacturing or similar
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Experience working with:
• Conveyors and automated material handling systems
• Motors, drives, gearboxes and pneumatics
• PLC-controlled equipment (fault finding level)
• Experience using CMMS systems
• Flexible to work 12-hour rotating shifts (days/nights)
• Strong commitment to safe working practices
