Job summary

Wills Consultants in Northamptonshire is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join a highly automated warehouse operation. You will maintain and improve equipment to keep downtime to a minimum.

The role requires ONC/HNC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or PLC Engineering, PLC fault-finding experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including lone working and working at height.

Qualifications

• ONC, HNC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or PLC Engineering
• PLC knowledge and fault-finding experience is required
• Experience within an automated environment
• Happy with lone working
• Ability to work at height
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on automated materials handling equipment
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and rectify faults, while identifying and implementing long-term solutions to prevent reoccurrence
• Accurately record all maintenance activities in line with agreed processes and procedures
• Build strong working relationships with the customer, supporting day-to-day operational activities
• Investigate equipment issues, identify root causes and work proactively with the operations team to minimise disruption
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and contribute ideas to enhance system performance and reliability
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers to ensure a smooth and efficient operation

Shifts: Monday to Friday 06:00-14:30 / 14:00-22:30

About the Role:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a highly automated warehouse operation in Northampton.
