Job summary

The Sterling Choice is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer for a busy FMCG site in Northampton. The role covers planned and reactive maintenance across electrical and mechanical systems, with a focus on minimizing downtime and optimising performance.

You will operate on a 4-on 4-off pattern with days and nights, bringing strong fault-finding skills and relevant engineering qualifications to a team that values safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experienced Maintenance Engineer with electrical bias.
• Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and mechanical systems.
• Previous FMCG, food or manufacturing experience is ideal.
• Comfortable working across both days and nights on a 4-on 4-off pattern.

Responsibilities

• Planned and reactive maintenance across a busy FMCG manufacturing site.
• Electrical and mechanical fault-finding and breakdown diagnosis.
• Diagnosing breakdowns and getting production back up and running.
• Completing PPMs and supporting continuous improvement.
• Working closely with production and engineering teams.
