Maintenance Engineer (Shift Cover) - North West

Rates: £27.00 Per Hour (PAYE) / £35.00 Per Hour (Umbrella)

Are you a skilled maintenance engineer seeking part-time work or looking to supplement your current shift pattern? Join Gap Technical in supporting a range of manufacturing businesses throughout the North West with ad hoc shift cover opportunities.

Our Clients:
We work with leading FMCG, Food, Beverage, Packaging, and Chemical manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Respond efficiently to equipment breakdowns and conduct scheduled maintenance to maintain smooth operations.
2. Focus on troubleshooting and resolving machine processing faults using historical documentation and technical expertise.
3. Foster positive relationships with operational staff and work collaboratively to optimize performance.
4. Conduct Root Cause Analysis to enhance machine reliability and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
5. Maintain and repair machinery to high standards, proactively reducing downtime and contributing to department efficiency.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

1. Completion of a Timeserved Engineering Apprenticeship is preferred.
2. Experience in FMCG/Packaging Manufacturing is advantageous but not essential.
3. Competence in fault-finding on 3-Phase Electrical Systems, Drives, I/O PLCs, Pneumatic and Hydraulic Systems.
4. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to plan and organize efficiently.
