Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Job Overview

Working for our client, a Sheffield-based Machining Technology business, supporting customers across industries such as nuclear, defence, power generation, offshore oil and gas, and aerospace.

Job Description

Reporting to the Lead Engineer, as an Electrical Maintenance Multiskilled Engineer, based onsite in Sheffield's Machine Shops, you will be part of a maintenance team responsible for ensuring the reliability of plant and equipment through planned preventative maintenance (PPM). Your role involves ensuring the availability of supplies, materials, and parts to keep equipment operational while minimizing production disruptions.

Scope of Responsibilities

• Address equipment and facility breakdowns and perform corrective actions.
• Conduct planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance.
• Work towards meeting KPIs in the operational department.
• Support new project implementation and equipment installation.
• Assess equipment condition, oversee refurbishment, and implement continuous improvement activities.
• Develop personal skills and capabilities.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the Spidex CMMS system.
• Collaborate with the Engineering Team for proper maintenance planning.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the department.

Key Responsibilities

• Support operational targets by maintaining equipment uptime and availability.
• Liaise with Service Management and Production to resolve daily equipment issues.
• Diagnose and repair electronic, electrical, and mechanical faults efficiently.
• Assist in breakdown repairs across shifts to minimize downtime.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective measures.
• Manage maintenance stock parts accurately.
• Participate in interdepartmental projects and support holiday and absence cover as needed.
• Ensure all actions comply with company procedures and work instructions.
• Utilize the Spidex Maintenance Management system effectively.
• Provide timely updates on maintenance tasks to management.

Working Hours and Salary

Shift pattern: Morning (6am-2pm), Afternoon (2pm-10pm), Night (10pm-6am). 40 hours/week, including breaks, with a maximum shift length of 12 hours.

Salary: £24.59 per hour. Overtime paid at the same rate.
