Job summary

Fusion People Ltd is seeking an experienced Machine Tool Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance, reliability and performance of a busy manufacturing environment in the West Midlands. This hands-on role covers preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repair on CNC machines, including 5-axis milling and twin-spindle lathes, with Fanuc and Siemens controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years' experience maintaining CNC machine tools.
• Apprentice-trained with a recognised engineering qualification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the reliability and performance of CNC tooling in a busy manufacturing environment.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electronic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs to maximise machine availability.

Job Title: Machine Tool Maintenance Technician

Location: Walsall, West Midlands

Duration: Permanent

Salary: Circa 50,000 per annum (DOE)

We are seeking an experienced Machine Tool Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance, reliability, and performance of a busy manufacturing environment.

This is a hands‑on position requiring a broad range of electrical and mechanical maintenance skills. You will be comfortable working in both proactive preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repair situations, managing your workload effectively to ensure machinery availability and operational efficiency.

Essential Experience & Skills

CNC Machine Knowledge

Strong understanding of Fanuc and Siemens CNC control systems.

• 5-axis CNC milling machines
• Twin‑turret CNC lathes

Fault Finding & Repair

Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing:

• Hydraulic systems
• Electronic systems
• CNC software issues
• Electrical systems
• Pneumatic systems
• Mechanical components
• Low‑voltage control and feedback systems
• DC drives
• Linear guide replacement
• Ball screw replacement
• Machine levelling and alignment

Desirable Experience

Apprentice-trained with a recognised engineering qualification.

Minimum of three years' experience maintaining CNC machine tools.

Experience working with:

• Horizontal twin‑spindle milling machines
• Twin‑pallet milling machines
• Siemens Simatic HMI systems

Valid Forklift Truck Licence.
