Job summary

A national food manufacturer in King's Lynn is seeking a Maintenance Engineer responsible for the maintenance and repair of plant equipment. This is a full-time position offering a salary of £42,000 and requires shifting hours (4 on, 4 off).

Qualifications

• A recognised qualification or apprenticeship in both mechanical and electrical engineering.
• Previous experience in an engineering role, preferably within the food or drink sector.
• A strong understanding of safety procedures, quality control, and KPI management.
• The ability to deliver both short-term fixes and long-term engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns or interruptions, escalating where necessary.
• Drive continuous improvement by reviewing current processes and identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records to ensure legal compliance and a safe working environment.
• Liaise effectively with suppliers and maintain appropriate engineering stock and resources.

You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all plant equipment to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the sites production and intake systems - minimising downtime and supporting business objectives.
