Job summary

Kingston Recruitment is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer/Factory Fitter to take ownership of maintenance within a busy manufacturing environment in Hessle. This is a highly autonomous, hands-on role that requires a practical engineer comfortable working independently.

You will maintain a diverse range of machinery and factory services, diagnose faults across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems, and drive reliability improvements across the plant.

Qualifications

• Experience as Maintenance Engineer or Factory Fitter in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong ability to work across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Self-motivated and highly autonomous with the ability to manage own workload.
• Experience in smaller manufacturing businesses where flexibility is essential.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of planned and reactive maintenance across the factory.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults.
• Maintain and repair a wide range of industrial and woodworking machinery.
• Undertake welding, fabrication and general engineering repairs.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns, minimising production downtime.

• Work closely with production and management to improve reliability and efficiency.

Overview

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer / Factory Fitter to take ownership of maintenance within a busy manufacturing environment. This is a highly autonomous, hands-on role, suited to an engineer with a strong and varied engineering background who is comfortable working independently within a smaller company. You will be responsible for keeping a diverse range of machinery, equipment and factory services operating safely and efficiently, with plenty of variety to the role.

The Candidate

• An experienced Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Factory Fitter with a strong and varied engineering background.
• Previous experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment is essential.
• Confident working across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Comfortable diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs across a wide variety of machinery.
• Self-motivated and highly autonomous, with the ability to manage and prioritise your own workload.
• Ideally experienced within a smaller manufacturing business, where flexibility and a hands-on approach are essential.
• Practical, proactive and confident taking ownership of maintenance requirements.
