Job summary

Neos Recruitment Ltd seeks a Maintenance Engineer to service CHP units nationwide, travelling across the UK in a company vehicle. You will perform routine servicing and reactive calls on CHP systems (30kW–500kW) and deliver clear site reports, while supporting the broader technical team.

The role requires hands-on engineering expertise, strong knowledge of LTHW systems and BMS controls, and the ability to work independently with occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience as a CHP service engineer, or similar role.
  • Strong practical knowledge of LTHW hot water systems, including pumps, inverter drives, flow rates, delta T, boiler operations and BMS controls.
  • Strong practical electrical engineering knowledge of LV power generation and distribution systems.
  • Practical knowledge of high level software based control systems such as Comap.
  • Knowledge of Web Supervisor, Inteli Monitor, Lite Edit, TEM, TPEM.
  • MWM Trained.
  • Ability to work with complex equipment such as flue gas analysers and temperature profiling devices.

Responsibilities

  • Travel around the UK carrying out routine servicing and reactive work on CHP units (30kW–500kW).
  • Provide detailed site reports and maintain regular communication with the Service Team.
  • Support customers and colleagues with technical knowledge and training as required.

Maintenance Engineer - CHP

Neos are proud to be working with a thriving business with over 40 years in the standby power and energy efficiency markets. You would be part of a team of around 100 staff under a family management structure which has high standards of both performance and ethics. They are a nationwide company with plenty of room for progression.

The Role

Travelling all-round the UK, using your engineering and computer skills to carry out routine servicing work on a range of CHP's in the range of 30kW - 500kW. This will be a mixture of scheduled service work and reactive work where you would be the first-responder to a breakdown on site.

You’ll travel around the UK in your company provided vehicle carrying out a mixture of scheduled service work and reactive work which may involve overnight stays, so a flexible approach to working patterns is required.

This role is a fantastic balance of working independently with the backup of a strong support team in the office to enable you to fulfil your role. You will be part of our wider technical support team that supports both internal colleagues and external customers with a can-do approach

Other requirements for the role include though are not limited to:
  • Ensure that you fully understand the customer's requirements are prior to visiting site
  • Create effective relationships within the Service team and the wider organisation
  • Provide technical support to colleagues and be part of the wider technical support team that supports our customers
  • Provide detailed Site Reports to the required standard that among other things highlight actions which may need to be taken and seek opportunities for improvement
  • Maintain regular communications with the Service Team
  • Behave at all times in a manner that is in keeping with the responsibility of the position, and be a brand ambassador of Shenton Group
  • Diligence at all times in protecting Shenton Group's commercial and warranty liabilities
  • While on site observe health and safety at work procedures and complete required Risk Assessments
  • When necessary support with customer and internal training activities to help educate customer and colleagues in the correct operation and maintenance of equipment
Key Skills and experience
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience as a CHP service engineer, or similar role.
  • Strong practical knowledge of LTHW hot water systems, including practical experience of pumps, inverter drives, flow rates, delta T, boiler operations, and associated BMS controls
  • Strong practical electrical engineering knowledge of LV power generation and distribution systems
  • Practical knowledge of high level software based control systems such as Comap.
  • Knowledge of Web Supervisor, Inteli Monitor, Lite Edit, TEM, TPEM
  • MWM Trained
  • Ability to work with complex equipment such as flue gas analysers, digital water flow and temperature profiling devices.

Experience and Qualifications
Essential
  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification
  • IEE 18th Edition Qualified
  • IT skills, fluent with Outlook, Excel and Word. Practical experience of using laptop based bespoke engine system analysis and control programmes such as Comap PC Suite / DSE Configuration Suite.

  • MWM Training
  • Gas Safe qualification
