Job summary

Otis Limited is seeking an experienced escalator engineer to join the London Underground portfolio. You will maintain safety-critical escalator units across London, carrying out breakdowns and repairs with focus on reliable uptime.

You will work nights Sunday to Thursday (11pm–7am), liaising with customers on-site and applying your broad brand knowledge to ensure fast, first-time fixes where possible. Otis offers comprehensive benefits and career development.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Lift/Escalator Engineering with substantial service/maintenance experience.
• Willingness to work nights Sunday–Thursday 11pm–7am.
• Experienced escalator engineer with knowledge of multiple brands.
• Valid UK driving license required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out breakdowns and repairs on site escalators to maximise uptime.
• Manage escalator portfolio within the London Underground network.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns with focus on first-time fix where possible.
• Liaise with customers on-site to maintain strong working relationships.

Role Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced escalator engineer to join our Transport for London team, covering our London Underground escalator portfolio. Your priority is to ensure the safety of passengers and technical stakeholders by safely maintaining a portfolio of escalator units.

Responsibilities

• Carry out breakdown and repair work on all equipment across site escalators within the portfolio to achieve continual operation
• Work within London Underground network, managing the portfolio of escalator's within it
• Respond proactively and quickly to fix any breakdowns, aiming to achieve first time fix
• Liaise directly with the customer while on site to build a good working relationship

What you will need to be successful

• You will be qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 in Lift and or Escalator Engineering with significant experience in service and maintenance of escalators
• To be able to work nights Sunday - Thursday starting at 11pm - 7 am.
• You must be an experienced escalator engineer with in-depth knowledge of a variety of different brands of equipment
• Hold a valid UK drivers license
• Flexibility is important and overtime maybe required
• You have good skills in mechanical and electrical engineering
• You are a committed professional, with safety as your priority
• You are comfortable communicating to others
• You are curious, adaptable, and you know how to work alone or in a team
• You are comfortable using electronic and digital tools.
