Job summary

Otis London is seeking an experienced escalator call-out and repair engineer to join our Transport for London team, covering the London Underground escalator portfolio. Your priority is safety and keeping passengers moving by maintaining critical units.

You will respond to breakdowns, aim for first-time fixes, and liaise with customers on site. A NVQ Level 3 in Escalator Engineering and a UK driving license are required, with 4 on 4 off night shifts.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Escalator Engineering or higher with service experience.
• Experience maintaining escalators and knowledge of brands.
• Valid UK driver’s license.
• Willing to work 4 on 4 off nights.
• Strong mechanical and electrical engineering skills.
• Safety-focused and able to work alone or in a team.

Responsibilities

Role Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced escalator call out and repair engineer to join our Transport for London team, covering our London Underground escalator portfolio. Your priority is to ensure the safety of passengers and technical stakeholders by safely maintaining a portfolio of escalator units.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out breakdown and repair work on all escalators within the portfolio to achieve continual operation.
• Work within London Underground network, managing the portfolio of escalator's within it.
• Respond proactively and quickly to fix any breakdowns, aiming to achieve first time fix.
• Liaise directly with the customer while on site to build a good working relationship.

What you will need to be successful

• Qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 in Escalator Engineering with significant experience in service and maintenance of escalators.
• Experienced escalator engineer with in-depth knowledge of a variety of different brands of equipment.
• Hold a valid UK drivers license.
• Flexibility is important; overtime may be required.
• Good skills in mechanical and electrical engineering.
• Committed professional, with safety as your priority.
• Comfortable communicating to others.
• Curious, adaptable, and able to work alone or in a team.
• Comfortable using electronic and digital tools.
