Job summary

ATA Recruitment are recruiting for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer based near Gloucester. You will maintain and improve site performance through both planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery.

This role offers up to £57,000 per annum, double days Monday to Friday, with excellent training and development opportunities and a strong pension. You will work on new equipment and ongoing investment projects, with clear progression in a forward-thinking manufacturing business.

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering qualification.
• Proven maintenance experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills with root-cause analysis.
• Experience with PLCs is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Electrical fault finding and maintenance on production machinery.
• Working with three-phase motors, sensors, relays, contactors, inverters, breakers, switches, and power supplies.
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics.
• Using test equipment including multimeter for diagnostics and fault finding.
• Mechanical maintenance including conveyors, rollers, bearings, pulleys, gearboxes, shafts, belts, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Supporting continuous improvement and equipment reliability projects.
• Carrying out component replacements, strip-downs, and rebuild work where required.

The Role

As a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving site performance through both planned and reactive maintenance activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Electrical fault finding and maintenance on production machinery


• Working with three-phase motors, sensors, relays, contactors, inverters, breakers, switches, and power supplies


• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics


• Using test equipment including multimeter for diagnostics and fault finding


• Mechanical maintenance including conveyors, rollers, bearings, pulleys, gearboxes, shafts, belts, pneumatic and hydraulic systems


• Supporting continuous improvement and equipment reliability projects

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• A recognised engineering qualification


• Proven maintenance experience in an industrial environment (e.g. FMCG, manufacturing, food & beverage, packaging, utilities)


• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills with a focus on root cause analysis


• PLC experience (advantageous but not essential)


• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
