Job summary

Premier Nutrition is seeking a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join our site in Fradley (Staffordshire). The role covers preventive maintenance, breakdown response, and continuous improvement to protect yields and efficiency. You will support health, safety, and feed safety standards and work within a CMMS framework.

The role requires 18th Edition, FMCG/Lean experience, and a strong safety mindset. Permanent contract, 38.5 hours/week, Monday–Friday, day shift.

Qualifications

• Multiskilled engineer with City & Guilds Level 3/HNC or equivalent.
• Experience of planned maintenance systems.
• 18th Edition wiring regulations.
• Good H&S Working Knowledge.
• Experience in FMCG, CI or Lean techniques.
• Food Industry experience.
• Safety qualification (IOSH).
• IPAF, PASMA, Forklift licence, BOAS, Confined Space.
• Welding or fabrication skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety learning opportunities and Target Zero.
• Maintain site proactively including reactive and planned tasks; fault finding and small improvements.
• Minimise plant downtime and support yield improvements.
• Ensure health, safety, feed safety and quality standards are met.
• Carry out risk assessments and work on safely isolated equipment.
• Execute PPM tasks per the CMMS (Agility) schedule.
• Coordinate downtime with operators and ensure equipment availability.
• Manage spare parts in stores and report usage and orders.

The Role & Key Responsibilities

Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Location: Fradley (Staffordshire)

Contract and shift pattern: Permanent contract, 38.5 hours per week Monday to Friday (day shift)

The role of the Multi-Disciplined Maintenance Engineer is to provide first class customer support to the Operations team. This is achieved by performing Preventive Maintenance activities, responding effectively to breakdowns, monitoring equipment performance and providing valuable input to help maintain process yields and efficiencies.

What you'll be doing

• Actively promote safety learning opportunities
• Promote and be an advocate of Target Zero.
• Overall maintenance of the site including both reactive and planned maintenance tasks, fault finding, and small improvement projects, minimising plant downtime
• Supporting the Head of Maintenance Manager to ensure health and safety, feed safety and Quality standards are never compromised.
• Ensure all work is risk assessed and carried out on safely isolated equipment.
• PPM tasks in accordance with the agreed schedule. In line with our CMMS - Agility
• Be proactive in cooperation with the Operators to agree equipment downtime and availability for maintenance tasks.
• Assist the Head of Maintenance Manager in ensuring that adequate spare parts are held in stock by keeping the stores area organised and reporting parts used and ordering from suppliers.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by highlighting/identifying possible cost saving initiatives or process improvements.
• Assist with Control of Contractors, Permits to Work etc.
• Ensure responsibility for Feed Safety is understood across all repartees.
• Champion the company’s Feed Safety responsibilities and quality aspirations.

• Multiskilled engineer: City & Guilds Level 3/HNC or relevant equivalent experience in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
• Experience of planned maintenance systems.
