Job summary

DO & CO is hiring a fully skilled maintenance engineer for a fast-paced food production facility. You will provide technical support across lines, perform PPM and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, and drive continuous improvement to boost OEE.

The role requires ability to work continental shifts and to collaborate with production and quality teams. You will maintain CMMS records, uphold food safety standards, and benefit from on-site meals and in-house training.

Qualifications

• Time-served Engineer or equivalent qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Experience in a fast-moving, semi-automated manufacturing environment (food, beverage, or FMCG).
• Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and PLC knowledge.
• Ability to work continental shift pattern (days/nights, including weekends).
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement principles.
• Gas safety certification and 17th/18th Edition Electrical qualification (if electrically biased).

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production and packaging equipment.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults in a timely and safe manner.
• Support line optimisation and process improvement initiatives to improve OEE.
• Work collaboratively with production and quality teams to ensure operational targets are met.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and downtime records through the CMMS system.
• Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards always.

Education

HNC/HND/NVQ Level 3 in Engineering discipline

• Ability to work effectively on a continental shift pattern (days/nights, including weekends)
• Excellent diagnostic, fault-finding, and communication skills
• Knowledge of DAF plant operations
• Gas safety certification
• 17th/18th Edition Electrical qualification (if electrically biased)
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement principles
