Job summary

Siemens Healthineers in Eynsham near Oxford is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to keep manufacturing equipment running safely and reliably in a 24/7 operation. You will work on a rotating day shift, across mechanical and electrical systems, balancing reactive fault-finding with planned maintenance and TPM initiatives.

You will own repairs, contribute to root cause analysis, manage parts, and support continuous improvement while upholding health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering apprenticeship, NVQ, BTEC or equivalent qualification.
• Strong experience as a multi-skilled maintenance engineer in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Balanced background in both mechanical and electrical maintenance.
• Calm, methodical fault-finding and root cause analysis.
• Ability to plan and implement safe, effective repairs with risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Respond to equipment and facility failures to restore safe operation.
• Take responsibility for start-up/shut-down and parameter checks.
• Monitor systems and record performance data for analysis.
• Deliver planned maintenance activities and TPM initiatives.
• Update maintenance management system after work completed.
• Carry out routine checks and condition monitoring (vibration, fluids, welds, vacuum).
• Support safety culture and local spare parts management.
• Contribute to root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Assist with simple PLC modifications or mechanical design improvements.

Job description

We're now looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to help keep our manufacturing equipment running efficiently, safely and reliably in a 24/7 operation. This role works on a rotating day shift (6am-2pm and 2pm-10:30pm, Monday to Friday) and is initially based in Eynsham, with opportunities to support our Bicester site as we prepare for launch in early 2027. Please note, this role will not automatically transition to Bicester at launch as it's supporting our Eynsham facility. Your Role: This is a hand-on, varied maintenance role where your expertise will directly support production, quality and safety. You'll work across a broad range of mechanical and electrical systems, combining reactive fault-finding with planned and preventative maintenance. You'll also have the opportunity to influence how we improve equipment reliability by contributing to root cause analysis and continuous improvement activity. You'll be trusted to take ownership, supported by experienced colleagues, and encouraged to share ideas that make a real difference. What you'll be doing:

• Responding quickly and effectively to equipment and facility failures to restore safe operation
• Taking responsibility for equipment start-up and shut-down, ensuring process parameters are met
• Monitoring facility systems and recording performance data for analysis and traceability
• Delivering planned maintenance activities and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives
• Updating the maintenance management system accurately after completed work
• Carrying out routine checks and condition monitoring such as vibration analysis, weld parameter checks, fluid levels and vacuum inspections
• Working safely at all times, following established procedures and contributing to a strong safety culture
• Managing local spare parts to ensure availability and cost-effective stock levels
• Using structured problem-solving techniques to resolve equipment issues and prevent recurrence
• Supporting simple PLC modifications, tooling improvements or mechanical design solutions
• Analysing trends in equipment data and recommending practical improvements
• Providing advanced technical support and collaborating with others when complex issues arise
  A recognised engineering apprenticeship, NVQ, BTEC or equivalent qualification
• Strong experience as a multi-skilled maintenance engineer in an industrial or manufacturing environment

• A calm, methodical approach to fault-finding and root cause analysis
• The ability to plan and implement safe, effective and efficient repair solutions
