Job summary

gap technical is recruiting an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer for a leading FMCG manufacturer in Corby. You will maintain and improve production equipment to maximise uptime and support continuous improvements across the site.

You will work on planned and reactive maintenance, including PLC-controlled machinery, conveyors, packaging equipment, motors and sensors. Safety and reliability are priorities, with a focus on continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Electrical qualification required (NVQ3/City & Guilds/HNC or equivalent).
• Experience in FMCG/food manufacturing or similar fast-paced production environment.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with conveyors, packaging machinery, motors, sensors and control systems.
• Proactive with focus on safety, reliability and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production machinery.
• Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults, including PLC-controlled equipment.
• Responding quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Supporting continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
• Working closely with production teams to maximise efficiency.
• Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with food manufacturing standards.

We're partnering with a leading manufacturing business in Corby to recruit multiple Maintenance Engineers to join their established engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a modern, fast-paced production environment, playing a key role in keeping operations running efficiently while contributing to ongoing improvements across the site.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining and improving a range of production equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and supporting the site's operational performance.
