The Maintenance Engineer will support the running of the factory by resolving breakdowns and delivering planned maintenance. They will be required to drive improvements across the site in machinery, hygiene, quality, and performance.

They will be responsible for reactive and proactive maintenance work, ensuring it is carried out to high standards across the entire site, including maintenance, repair, and installation tasks within the factory.

Rate of pay: £28.50 per hour (13 weeks probationary period, CIS / Umbrella)

Shifts: Friday to Sunday, 07:00 - 17:30

You will undergo 3 weeks of initial training on the day shift (39 hrs, Monday to Thursday, 7 am - 5 pm).

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Electrical & Mechanical maintenance across the site
2. Support the engineering department in timely completion of PPM schedules
3. Respond to breakdowns promptly to minimize machinery downtime and support continuous improvement of machine performance
4. Communicate effectively within the department
5. Ensure safety measures are followed, including lockout/tagout procedures
6. Report all equipment, building, or machinery defects

Authorities, Interface, Reporting, and Supervision

• Report to the Maintenance Manager
• Liaise with the Manufacturing Manager and Operations Manager
• Interact with Supervisors/Chargehands & QHSE Manager

Health, Safety & Environment

• Take responsibility for personal health and safety
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies
• Report accidents and incidents
• Participate in risk assessments and safety procedures
• Wear PPE as issued
