Job description

Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Are you a Maintenance or Service Engineer in or around Cannock looking for permanent days? Maybe you're a Field Service Engineer tired of being away from home constantly. Join our maintenance team responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of our busy production machinery and equipment at our manufacturing site.

Location: Cannock

As a Maintenance Engineer, reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will support the production team by carrying out planned and reactive tasks to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency.

You will work closely with the production team to resolve issues promptly and support continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on machinery, equipment, and plant.
2. Reactive repairs and rectification work.
3. Setting up and tooling machinery for next use.
4. Cleaning and preparing machinery.
5. Reporting faults and parts demand to maintain spares levels.
6. Supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Candidate Requirements:

You should be a mechanically biased, multi-skilled (80-20%) Maintenance or Service Engineer with experience in maintaining and repairing capital equipment, plant, or machinery. Experience with converting, unwinding, spooling, splicing, and labeling equipment is advantageous.

Essential skills include:

• Understanding pneumatic systems.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and components such as motors, circuits, and sensors.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics.
• Exposure to general facilities like HVAC and alarm systems.
• Ability to work independently while adhering to health and safety policies.
• Effective communication skills across all levels of the business.
