Job summary

VEKA UK has a hands-on maintenance engineer role in Burnley, focusing on keeping plant equipment in peak condition. You’ll perform planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, and support improvements to machinery with the production and engineering teams.

The position includes a Panama shift pattern and access to industry training, plus a range of employee benefits and opportunities to collaborate globally. VEKA is a leading PVCu window systems manufacturer.

Qualifications

  • A recognised qualification in Engineering (BTEC HNC).
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance role.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and principles.
  • Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and support occasional out-of-hours maintenance if required.
  • Ability to work a Panama shift pattern - 2-week rotation of days and nights. 2-2-3 cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on a range of machinery and equipment
  • Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns, minimising downtime
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
  • Work collaboratively with the production and engineering teams to ensure machinery is operating at peak performance
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement projects and machine upgrades
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and support compliance with health and safety standards

WHAT YOU'LL DO
